Cees Akkerman born in 1934 in Amsterdam
At a very young age was Cees been confronted with the 1940-45 war, his health left much to be desired, allowing
He was placed in a foster home in England.
After the war in 1948 his parents live in the countryside in the town of Ede in the province of Gelderland
There Cees wanted to complete his studies at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, he sought in the same city a room to stay,which meant it that every weekend, to come home around 100 km and 100 km cycling had returned to his beloved Amsterdam.
He studied and painted in Amsterdam surroundings, he was often found in urban areas which were restored after the war, then sold Cees this work to the Amsterdam municipal archive.
A highlight of this time was a joint exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
Watercolors and Gouche
France was also one of his favorite places, along the road or where he just sat down in a village or where ever the first brush on the canvas had been entrusted was sold.
Nationally but also internationally, his work was eagerly taken.
A time where communication was not really craft, The Public Art Program whitch on the Dutch television was leading at that time, was so enthusiastic about the work of Cees Akkerman that consistently each year of his work was purchased.
His talent became more appreciated, so he drew the most exclusive jewelry, fashion, cars, s which after the war as advertisements in Dutch newspapers were placed.
Famous clients of this period were Simons, Albert Melhado, Walter Thompson, Telegraaf, de Bussy, Koster and Steel etc.

In 2000, his talents increasingly valued, and his work unique.
Directors and whole families were portrayed by Cees Akkerman , Football players and coaches with names like Louis van Gaal now coach of Munchen and Co Adriaanse from Ajax and other great football clubs.
Young players like Patrick Kluivert playing by Ajax and Barcelona , Winston Bogarde and many other players were portrayed by Cees Akkerman in detail the similarities were so striking that Louis van Gaal enthusiastically urged to make an extra watercolor portrait.
Acrylic paintings his new passion
Painting with acrylics in later life was his passion, after more questions for producing realistic impressions he gave himself the green light.
The design over the years had been positively traces left behind, the technology fascinated him and the love was born.
His last issued Venetian girl 2008 and Carnaval de Venice San Marco 2008 and don,t forget Paris Dakar 2008 and The wedding of Prins Willem Alexander and Prinses maxima Zorregieta were also received with great appreciation.
2009 full of energy
Now at age 75 Cees Akkerman is still active as never before, with the great experience and not relentless energy he is now working to produce exclusive interior paintings.
